A PAIN IN THE NECK!
The neck has 7 vertebrae, C1 - C7, that rotate, tilt, flex and extend depending on how you move your head. These vertebrae make up the top of the spinal column.
As the neck is so mobile, it is very vulnerable to pain and injury. Whiplash is a common cause of neck problems. An injury to the neck can cause extended pain that is felt in the arms, head and shoulders. If the injury includes damage to a disc (the rubbery material between the vertebrae), you may experience dizziness, numbness and tingling in your arms or hands. It is important that persistent neck pain is checked out by your physician. Ask your doctor about the causes of your pain and learn as much as you can about your condition. Become an active participant in your own recovery!
