Daniel E. Redziniak, M.D. - Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine

The Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel Redziniak who joined the group in August 2008.

Dr. Redziniak is a graduate of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) in New Jersey, where he obtained his Medical Degree in 2002. During residency, he spent time in New York studying orthopedic oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, and was named Chief Resident at RWJMS in the orthopedic program. In addition he was the AOA / Zimmer Resident Leadership Award Winner.

In July 2008 he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship from the University of Virginia, where he was a Fellow for The University of Virginia Athletic Teams, and the James Madison University Athletic Teams. His specialty is sports medicine with emphasis on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle. He is also experienced in fracture management. He is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Dr. Redziniak has passed Part I of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery examinations and will take Part II within two years of commencing his private practice (2010).

Pre-graduate studies were undertaken at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (M.S.) and The Johns Hopkins University (B.A.). During this time he pursued his love of football. Dr. Redziniak was the Johns Hopkins University Varsity Football Team starting quarterback (1993-1996). He was named the Burger King National Scholar Athlete and National Scholar Athlete by College Football Review.

Other sporting achievements include New Jersey All State Quarterback - The Star Ledger; 1991, 1992; and All State Lacrosse Midfielder - The Star Ledger; 1991, 1992.

Dr. Redziniak has been involved in many research studies involving sports injury repair and rehabilitation. He has been published in peer review journals and has presented at national meetings.

Dr. Redziniak enjoys golfing, lacrosse, fishing and scuba diving. Starting in August, he will reside in Annapolis with his wife, Lorene, and two children, Ella and Dylan.
